Jordin triumphs as youngest Idol ever

Jordin Sparks flew from obscurity to fame Wednesday, becoming the youngest performer to be named American Idol. The 17-year-old from Glendale, Ariz., was crowned Idol No. 6 over 25-year-old syncopated Bothell, Wash., beat-boxer Blake Lewis.
“Mom, Dad, I love you,” she said, crying, from the stage.
