Junta Admits Mass Arrests

According to Myanmar’s Radio and television the Myanmar’s military rulers has acknowledged mass detentions in their brutal crackdown on protesters, saying that about 1,400 people were being held and that they are ready for talks with pro-democracy leader Daw Aung San Suu Kyi,if she abandoned her attitude of “confrontation” and repealed her call for foreign sanctions against the country.
