CIA’s ‘Family Jewels’ Surface

After 24 years of secrecy, the much-sought CIA classified files, the joy of many historians and conspiracy theorists, were finally released last Tuesday, bringing back to light a world of assassinations, elaborate plots and political tension typical of the Cold War era. After this period, all the classified data was voluntarily released by CIA director Michael Hayden for public knowledge. Usually, that’s when the above mentioned historians and conspiracy theorists (plus the journalists) begin their traditional scrounging of the just-released documents, looking for the stories that the entire world seems to know, but could never prove.
