Microsoft’s student Innovation Suite For $3

Yes you are not dreaming Microsoft is planning to sell software for just $3 (£1.50) in some parts of the world in an attempt to double the number of global PC users by 2015.Bill Gates, the Microsoft chairman said “Bringing the benefits of technology to the next five billion people will require new products that meet the needs of underserved communities“.

Microsoft’s student Innovation Suite will includes Windows XP Starter Edition, Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 with some other educational software, the package will be sell to governments in the second half of 2007.Orlando Ayala of Microsoft told the Reuter’s news agency that this move is not a philanthropic effort but it is business.
